Maronti S.A. is a second generation family-owned company. Italian immigrants Mr. Antonio Baldino and Mrs. Maria Inmaculada Di Scala started and continued the fish processing business uninterruptedly since 1958.
Fortunately, and as a reward for the personal effort and constant work of its founders and, later, that of their children and grandchildren, the company's growth has been constant since its beginnings, thus achieving the necessary solvency and reliability to work in an increasingly demanding -in terms of quality of products and services- international market.
The company began its activities in September 2009, mainly devoted to commercialise fresh and frozen hake, frozen squid and shrimp worldwide.
The company is headquartered in the city of Mar del Plata, and it operates its own fishing vessels in the Argentine Sea (FAO 41) with landing ports such as Comodoro Rivadavia, Puerto Madryn and Mar del Plata itself.
The fleet is made up of the 260-ton boat ANDRES JORGE, dedicated to fishing fresh hake for the domestic market, and also of two jigging vessels with a capacity of 1,300 tonnes per tide, MISHIMA MARU 8 and ARBUMASA XXIX, both dedicated to catching of squid that is processed on board and exported directly to the foreign market.
Squid is exported to Asian markets such as China, Thailand, South Korea and other South-east Asian countries, as well as to other regions of the World in frozen whole squid format; in addition it is commercialised as processed squid in local plants for sale in the local market.
The Company processes and commercialises about 7,000 tons of high quality raw material per year for the foreign and local market.
Currently, MARONTI S.A. provides about 120 jobs positions in Argentina and also a large amount of indirect jobs in ports, logistics and local raw material processing plants.
In the year 2020, the Company inaugurates its new 10,000 square metre office, refrigeration and processing plant facilities with a capacity for 4,000 tons of fish.
The Plant meets the qualifications required in compliance with of the European Union, the United States, South America and Asia regulations.
The Company works with the HCCP System throughout the whole processing chain from the Ship to the Refrigeration plant, guaranteeing the hygiene and safety of the food.
Our own logistics allows us to streamline distribution in times of high demand, in order to facilitate and improve product delivery times.
As a developing organization, our goal is to add value to our products by leveraging our competitive advantages and investment policies aimed at improving the efficiency and productivity of our vessels, with the constant maintenance of the fleet, engines and cold equipment, as well as in the packaging of our products that guarantee their quality excellence.
